Translations Made Easier

“I’d love to reach foreign markets, but finding a reliable translator is so hard!”

“I don’t speak Italian—how can I tell if the translation is any good?”

“I don’t have time to manage translators, proofreaders, and beta readers!”

If you’re an indie author looking to expand into new markets, these concerns might sound familiar. The good news? You don’t have to worry about any of that—at least not when it comes to your Italian translations.

I offer a complete, hassle-free package that includes translation, proofreading, and quality control. The result? A professional-quality book, ready to be formatted and published on Amazon or any other Italian ebook store of your choice.

Who I Am and Who I Work With

With over thirteen years of experience in the translation industry, I’ve had the pleasure of working with several internationally bestselling authors—you might even recognize some of them here. To date, I’ve translated more than 200 novels, novelettes, and short stories.

I work in tandem with a dedicated proofreader to ensure the highest level of quality—on par with what you’d expect from a traditional foreign publisher.

How Fast Is the Turnaround?

I pride myself on being both fast and thorough. For example, if your novel is around 60,000 words, I can deliver the finished translation in approximately 30 working days.

And by “finished,” I mean a polished, proofread book that’s ready for publication—not a rough draft you’ll need to revise or outsource for additional work. I also include the translation of the book’s blurb and listing page (yes, I do this—people keep asking!).

Throughout the process, I’ll stay in close contact to update you on my progress and ask questions when needed. I want to make sure I fully understand your vision and convey the same feeling in Italian. Don’t worry—I won’t flood your inbox, but I will reach out when something matters. After all, your book deserves the best.

What do I translate?

I specialize in romance, but I’m open to translating books from a variety of genres.

I’m comfortable with steamy content, but I may decline projects that include certain types of BDSM content due to personal preference—please let me know if your book includes these elements and how they are portrayed. I generally do not accept erotica, and I will not work on books with racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise harmful messages. (Books that address these issues critically are fine.)

Finally, I don’t accept projects in the “mafia romance” subgenre. Nothing personal—it’s just not for me.

How Much Will it Cost?

Here’s a quick breakdown of my rates. All prices are in euros. I use a two-step payment model: 50% upon signing the contract, and 50% upon delivery. I accept payments via PayPal or Wise (formerly TransferWise).

0.04/word This is my basic fee for a translation. It means that, for example, a 50.000 words book would cost you € 2,000. This price includes proofreading and quality control (done by a third person and accounting for 20% of the total cost)! I may have to charge more for particularly complex, hard to adapt books, although I have never felt the need to do so in the past (and I have more than 100 translations under my belt).
Free The translation of the book’s title, blurb and listing page. Nothing to pay here!

  3. Hello Ernesto–

How are you? I have a women’s fiction novel, entitled A Scarcity of Virgins, that is already for sale on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca in English. I would like to make it available as an eBook in Italian for the Italian market.

I have been advised that with only one novel under my belt, it might not be the best idea to release it in translation just yet.

I do speak some Italian, but not fluently, having grown up in a Sicilian dialect-speaking immigrant family in Canada. I would, nevertheless, like to have the book translated at this time.

I dont have a large budget, so I used Deepl to translate my novel into Italian. I can see that the nuances are not there and some phrases sound stilted.

I was wondering how much you would charge to review the Deepl translation and make any necessary changes to the novel (and cover, listing page information and blurb)? Thanks. JoAnn
